Soar Like the Eagle - Chris Baily

Pastor Chris Baily visited Oceans CONNECT churches this weekend with an amazing word.

As Christians, we are not chickens scratching in the dust. We are not ducks who follow anyone and everyone without a vision or a purpose of our own. We are not ostriches that bury their head in the sand when trouble comes. We are not vultures, who wait for an opportunity for someone to fail so that we can benefit from their failure.

We are Eagles. Eagles fly alone and fly up to as high as 10,000 to 15,000 feet. They soar so high that they do not need to flap their wings but they ride on the wind. Eagles have vision. They spot their prey from up to a mile away and they hone in to get it with 100% focus.

We are not followers. We are soarers. We do not mix with the chickens. We soar above situations and circumstances.

We are strong. We are leaders. We have integrity and honour. We are unique.

The Bible says in Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

At a time when even the young are weary, we will mount up as eagles and our strength will be renewed.
