More Than Enough for Every Good Work - (Including scripture in Greek)

If you missed last week's meetings here is a brief update. Two weeks ago we heard of amazing financial testimonies and more importantly how God was giving people a supernatural revelation about finances and financial increase.

Since then, God has added to the revelation and testimonies by revealing the very thing that will bring these promises to pass. The Word.

Only with the written Word of God will we see the testimony through to the end. An experience is good. A prayer is amazing. A vision and a revelation is life-changing but for lasting change to come and for you to see the changes you require fully come to pass, you need the WORD.

Last week we heard that the same person with the testimony got a further revelation by looking into the Word in its original Greek. She shared this and we are sharing it with you today.

2 Corinthians 9:8 says, And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

Sometimes the New Testament seems to have odd syntax or uses unusual words. This is mainly because it was translated word for word (as much as it was possible) from ancient Greek.

The Greek language is very rich and often has 5-6 different words for our one word! Some words in Greek are not easily translatable because they simply do not exist in the English language. By digging deeper however and looking at each individual word we were able to find a more expandable meaning of this scripture when translated, verbatim from Greek. See below:

2 Corinthians 9:8 - Greek to English (Expanded Version)

"δυνατος δε ο θεος πασαν χαριν περισσευσαι εις υμας ινα εν παντι παντοτε πασαν αυταρκειαν εχοντες περισσευητε εις παν εργον αγαθον" ΠΡΟΣ ΚΟΡΙΝΘΙΟΥΣ Β΄‬ ‭9:8‬ ‭

"Able (powerful) also is God that all of (the whole thing, all of it) the favour, be over and above, beyond, more than enough, remaining over, residual, surplus and leftover, to us - so that everyone, always, has every self-sufficiency, residual and overflowing, for every good, brave, noble and moral work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

Shorter Version

"Able also is God to make every favour residual (in excess, more than in enough) towards us, so that everyone, always, has every self-sufficiency, surplus and more than enough left over for every good, brave, noble and moral work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

Note 2 things:

1. Grace is translated as favour in the Greek - it is much easier to imagine having favour with people like your boss, clients, friends or anyone that can promote you and bless you.

2. The Greek version translates all-sufficiency to self-sufficiency. Big difference! God wants us to be 'self-sufficient' not dependant on the world's system or any human being (owe no man but to love him - Romans 13:8) for our prosperity. That way the world will not be able to control us. God may use people but ultimately we rely on God.

We hope you are blessed by this. We recommend printing it and sticking somewhere where you will see it every day so that you can confess it daily and so that it takes deep root in your spirit.

His Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11) but we have to keep it in the midst of our eyes and hearts daily (Proverbs 4:21).
